I miss "Documentation" in the Main Menu

Hello community,

i check the page again and i mean that it is not easy to find the Documentation!
The Docu is only under Development and not in any Menu.
Not everybody spend a look to the Development to find some Documentation
for ispCP.

We should put a link to the Docu in the Main Menu !?
Over or under the FAQ link ?

RE: I miss "Documentation" in the Main Menu

I am with You.

An other point in this direction. How about documentation also inside of ispCP Omega? Shurly not before 1.1.0. and not howto install, but how to use it and so on. How about it generaly? Is this allready talked about it anywhere?

My Fedora setup v.01: fedora_config_v01.zip (Still not implemented)

My PHP4 Installscript for Fedora Core 6 X86_64: configphp_opt_fedora_6_X86_64.zip
(The php-4.4.6.tar.bz2 file must be in the same folder like the script. After Script finished, cd php-4.4.6;make;make install)

RE: I miss "Documentation" in the Main Menu

I dont think we need to include documentation in the package itself.. only the install instructions.

The reason is simple, we need people to visit the website in order to help each other and also view UP TO DATE documentation as well as be informed of any security issues and any other updates.

Sometimes people get the install package from other locations, we since its my job to promote the project, I think we should leave the documentation on the site only (and maybe a PDF people can download from the site).

+1 for adding the documentation link on the main page Smile

Yes, Linking from ispcp to the online docu would be fine.
But then we should have a good structured, multilanguage online docu...
Maybe to start, a button "online help" to a docu site here would be fine.

RE: I miss "Documentation" in the Main Menu

I like the way its done with the myBB Forum.

They store a timestamp somewhere, when the last version check was and remind you to do so again Wink
And then they integrated a News site where they inform you about whats going on with the software and if a security issue had appeared.

Then you see big red letters (if you've not updated ) UPDATE TO LATEST VERSION!
I like that - even the laziest administrators should then know thats time to work a bit Wink

Yeah we could even integrate a link in the admin/reseller/customer part to the online help in here (Yeah and we need a nice manual , too Wink )

I started to create the structure for the Administrator.
When it is ok - i wil go on.
