RE: ISPCP IRC
oh cmon... be reasonable , use freenode.net as all other nice projects do. A lot more programmers and sysadmins use it.

RE: ISPCP IRC
There's no reason for a change because there is nobody anyway.

RE: ISPCP IRC
If you get your bot connected to freenode 24/7 and want to handle irc *for real* then users will come.
Personally I've always preferred mailing lists (or forums) for this type of work because you don't have to be around when things happen (think globally) and also irc logs don't preserve information as much as a topic based forum or mailing list.
irc is handy on events (hackatons for example) when everybody needs to be connected in real-time.

RE: ISPCP IRC
i was looking for help and joined #ispcp but no one was there, i got help on #apache... decide once and for all to make something official and users will come, there is no need for bots actually, sice you can register channel nicknames etc, i sit on a few channels devoted to programming and databases and i dont remember even a one situation in 2 years that would require banning ppl etc.

Hmmm... chatjunkies server, i saw quakenet somewhere ? All big projects have channels on freenode - #ubuntu, #debian , #zf, #postgres, #mysql #php, #dojo - +500 users per channel. So lets use a server that is populated by technical users that will or can be actuall ispCP user base. With attitude that "no one wil lcome" no one will come. I sit on a daily basis on those channels and can be on #ispcp too, include a java applet on your website to that channell get 2-3 users that will sit there rgularly ( i will but im a nix noob) and ppl will come. Be optimist
