quota doesn't work - madwolf - 06-06-2008 03:07 AM

I'm using today's nightly build. Disk usage always shows 0, when creating new users the quota for them is not being set in system.

user used soft limit hard limit
vu2002 4.90 MB Unlimited Unlimited

While the limits should be 200MB according to the hosting plan set. Although webmin shows that 4.90MB is being used in ispcp the disk usage shows 0.

Bandwidth usage works ok.

I'm using Debian 4.0 Etch, when I set quota manually for some user it works ok, so quota is working on my system.

----

update: disk usage gets updated when I run /var/www/ispcp/engine/quota/ispcp-dsk-quota manually.
However, it just shows that it's over the limit 150% but new files can be still sent over ftp. The same with bandwith, it says that it's exceeded, but the webpage still works.

i have the same problem... the damn quota just won't work :-W
it updates at midnight, says it's over the limit, but you can still copy files.

nobody has an answer for this.
btw, this quota thing used to work on vhcs2, what happened?

try to run the "/var/www/ispcp/engine/quota/ispcp-dsk-quota &" command and try to upload again.

RE: quota doesn't work - alecksievici - 09-05-2008 09:15 AM

Nope, the problem is still there.
i think it may be the quota package but i guess it is installed correctly:
/dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro,usrquota,grpquota 0 1

and your command is being executed daily at midnight:
/var/www/ispcp/engine/quota/ispcp-dsk-quota &>/var/log/ispcp/ispcp-dsk-quota.log

RE: quota doesn't work - Kommius - 09-18-2008 08:17 AM

The problem is linked to ProFTPD and its basic configuration not enforcing quotas on the FTP..

I had the same problem, solved it with this :

http://www.isp-control.net/documentation/howto/ftp/replace_proftpd_with_pure-ftpd

wow, thanx!
i'll probably do this after ispcp 1.0 is released...

LE: i'm still confused about one thing: on vhcs quota used to work with proftpd, what has been changed in the code that now it doesn't work?
