net2ftp issues - pgentoo - 01-26-2009 09:08 AM

Hi,

One of my good friends (clients) was testing out the web based filemanager on his account over the weekend, and found some issues.

  1. One issue was that if he edited a file, to just add a line to the end in this case, it would remove all the original contents of the file, and only save the new line.
  2. Second issue was that when moving files from one folder to another, it wouldn't move them all. It would take a few passes of trying to move all files, before they would all actually move.
  3. Lastly, unzipping of a .tar.gz to a specified destination folder, wouldn't work as expected.

Anyone else have similar issues?

Thanks,
pGentoo

can't confirm your issues because my first test using the filemanager the manager has been failing with 500 errors...

RC 7 at least has fixed my 500 errors of first page load since a server reboot which helps..

now when I use the net2ftp when I go to log in hit "login" and I get the error after the script times out. seems like a php.ini issue. Have also noticed the login on RC5 and RC6 on my boxes had gotten really slow for net2ftp...

look at the threads on speeding up proftpd logins. it could be causing extra issues for you...

Please check php version. If <= 5.2.0 it`s time to upgrade.

could be the fact that you are hitting it locally that is slowing things down? Maybe try to connect to ftp locally with commandline ftp. See if it connects slow... Could be ident settings, etc...

Nope... not the issue... even installed a clean version of net2ftp into a sub-directory...
set the login to localhost and the correct username and it was superquick...

just the isp-cp version is messed up somehow...
