ispcp + postfix + dovecot

I have done configuration with ISPCP with:
1. Postfix as SMTP
2. dovecot as pop3 + imap

and everything is done without any mbox creating on filesystem, everything is get from ispcp mail_users table, and you don't hjave to have other tables, or other files on system, ispcp don't need to do any commands on real system and it's faster and more powerfull

If admins like that idea i can support that part of ispCP and help to simplify ispcp working

I known that i can configure ipv6 setting directly the apache configuration but this post try to ask about the real IPv6 support for the panel. The date of transicion is near.

There are any plan for implement IPv6 in the panel? and what about use both ips (ipv4 and ipv6) for the same vhost?

So, one thing what I just do here is a better webmail address for customers.

Ex: webmail.mycustomerdomain.com

Just to sync my software description:
Linux CentOS x64
ispCP 1.0.6
Webmail Roundcube (I simple replaced at /var/www/ispcp/gui/tools/webmail to this)

Lets start:

At file /etc/ispcp/bind/parts/db_e.tpl increment your DNS template by adding this registry in "CNAME for mail transfer" section:

After that your new domains will give the webmail access over this kind of URL "webmail.customerdomain.com".

If you wish to do this change in all your already domains follow the steps to regenerate your DNS and Apache Confs at this URLs:

I'm trying the 1.1.0 Beta and if i add or remove a sub-domain, the apache2 config isn't reloaded!

If i add or remove a domain, the config will be reoloaded!

I can't find any hints in log ...

if i do a manualy reload in console the domain is reachable!

[SOLVED] One Username - Multiple Domains!

Hi.

I have been using ispCP for a long time, but a missing feature in ispCP made me change to another control panel. Too bad.

I have clients with many domains, why isn't it possible to add multiple domains to one user? I know it is possible with alias domain (I heard), but it doesn't really work that well! And the user still has to login with the domainname as username.

Almost every other control panel, let's you choose how many domains are allowed to create in the hosting plan, and then let you create a unique username for the client. NOT the domain name as username.

The user log in and administrates all of his domains IN THE SAME user, and is not forced to log out/log in everytime he has to make a change to one domain. I am begging the developers to implement this feature, as I must admit that ispCP Omega is the BEST hosting control panel I, and my clients, has ever used. It's just sad to change panel just because of one feature.

I am willing to donate a big fat check in order to get this feature implemented, and I am sure others are willing to do that too. (??)

It would be great if there was a blue print for how server selection(s) would be coded. example Apache/lighttp bind/powerdns and possibly others (MTA?). this would help writing code now that would be reusable for those once they are added to isp-control.

confusion over domain alias, and the like.
This is user feed back that makes me post this.

In most cases a domain alias is a domain that points to the home of another there for "aliasing" the domain to the parent. In the case of ispCP "alias" is to the account. This isn't so much a alias as a new domain. Now to my point.

domain options:
Register NEW DOMAIN (this should pend approval as this domain is new and at some point have whois tools added as well) should then email or display to the user the name servers to use.

Host existing Domain (this should just add the domain to the account with out approval) should then email or display to the user the name servers to use.

Domain Alias should be the next option on domain setup.
this could list the domains in the account in a drop down, much like the email does now with forward or normal.

The alias option if checked should then set its name in apache ServerAlias and not create everything else for the domain.

This would open options for billing tools, domain registration tools and the like.

Sorry if this sounds like a lot, This does come from my test group that are use to other control panels out there.

Would be nice if the system had a mail box change password link built in to ispcp, this way a domain admin can setup mail boxes for his user, the user then can go with this temp password and email address and set it to his password.

CalDAV and LDAP support

I have just set up caldav (davical) and ldap (openladp) on my Ubuntu server and was surprised to find how easy it was.

It would be nice if the two applications were supported - one for network calendering, and the other for addressbook storage.

Davical requires postgresql and php which are available for BSD and most flavours of Linux.

Openldap again is supported in Linux and BSD.

Squirrelmail, (and Roundcube which I tend to use) both support ldap address books as do a number of other mail clients and handheld devices.

Caldav is supported by a number of mail clients including Thunderbird and iCal (also worth noting native support on IOS and app support for Android).

All that is missing if a Caldav web client.

A small authentication plugin could be written for davical to allow it to authenticate against the ispcp email users database which would auto-create the davical user. I am not much of a coder, but it doesn't look too complicated.

Openldap could be configured without too much difficulty, it would probably require a) Initial setup b) the generation of an LDIF file which would be imported at domain creation time constructed from form data and c) another at email address creation time - see this url for info on how this works:

Am I over-simplifying things and not seeing the big picture?

As I have mentioned, I am not much of a coder, so although I could probably have a go at writing this, my code would by no means by elegant, and I would likely be buggy, poorly written and would make a rather more experienced programmer cringe.

We use ispCP very well. But there is one Challange. We just install a Wordpress Network. Now we want to add more subdomains to the user, but ispCP dont allowed to make a subdomain to the mountpoint where a other subdomain are mounted. The current fix ist to make symlinks but this is a bad hack.

Is there a other oportunity and maybe to make a new option?

Domain Expire

Hi all,
i wan't to make some suggestions and report some bugs.

Please correct me if some suggestion already exists or if a bug is already fixed.

Suggestions:
- In domain disable, we could have a field to create an 'email template' (Like email for password recovery edit) to send to the users 30 days before the domain expire, then 14 days, then 5,4,3,2,1. (Or let the admin choose the days we wan't).
Usefull things that are missing (continuation):
- Incorporation of SimpleScripts (simplescripts.com) with IspCP (it only needs an preconfigured ftp account if i'm not wrong).
- CronJobs Interface (Very usefull to some users)

domain_disable_page = /var/www/ispcp/gui/domain_disable_page/

Bugs:
- If we change the domain_disable_page, everytime we add a new domain, it will bug, because instead of loading each file and change the 'placeholders' dynamically , it is calling the default files (javascript, css, etc).
- If we change the domain_disable_page, we don't have any function to replace all the websites.
- The same happens with the errordocs.

I want a better SA control, where you can set a global level of spam level and every user for themselves.
As well as possible White and Blacklisting and individual SA-level setting per mailbox.
In short, the way Confixx does it, as it makes it so much easier if a user can set their own SA.

And please make Mail-filters like SA, Policy-weight and such selectable as Administrator, so you can turn them on/off as you wish.
Also it takes a lot of people from the difficult config for it.

And last, make an option to use SA as Spam-filter or Spam-blocker.
I use Policy-weight as spam-block, but SA as filter...it passes but marks as spam.
