DNS, AMaVis, POP3-SSL and Spamassasin down
I've just installed IspCp daily snapshot version 1.0.3 on a clean Debian Lenny 5.0 32 bits system.

Everything works just fine, but the DNS service is down (Server status page indicates that). Also AMaVis, POP3-SSL and Spamassasin. I can't change DNS of any domain to my server and use it, because it shows that my server is not congfiured for the particular domain. So basically I guess the DNS Service isnt working. And the ones mentioned above.

However, in the terminal I get the following status:

Code:
r48:~# /etc/init.d/bind9 status
bind9 is running.

What should I do?

RE: DNS, AMaVis, POP3-SSL and Spamassasin down
Quote:/etc/init.d/bind9 stop
killall -9 named
/etc/init.d/bind9 start
grep named /var/log/syslog | tail -n 40

Post the resulting output Wink

DNS seems to be working properly. Maybe you've set it so it doesn't listen in 127.0.0.1? What is the output of:

Code:
netstat -tlnp | grep named

RE: DNS, AMaVis, POP3-SSL and Spamassasin down
Code:
r48:~# netstat -tlnp | grep named
tcp        0      0 127.0.0.1:53            0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      12473/named
tcp        0      0 127.0.0.1:953           0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      12473/named

Maybe I've set incorrect IP Number? because my server has two IPs. One, and the second is fail-over which I've actually used. I've added DNS2 to server status, providing local ip number (127.0.0.1) and it shows DNS on port 53 as "UP". But I still cant add or use any domains. Should I reinstall it providing the first, base IP Number? Or maybe I should have provided IP of the secondary DNS during install?

Okay, your dns server is setup to listen only on localhost. See the bind/your distro's docs on how to change it so it listents on all the machine interfaces. By the way, which distro/version do you use?

Debian Lenny 5.0 32 Bits

Also, when I go to manage IPs I have the following message:

"File /proc/net/dev does not exists or cannot be reached !Error while trying to obtain list of network cards!Warning: cannot open /proc/net/dev (No such file or directory). Limited output.
Return value: 1"

Alright, DNS seems to be working fine at the moment, thanks Smile

When the install asked me about my FQHN/FQDN i provided ntm4.pl instead of my full server name that is name.ovh.net . When I try to change DNS of that domain (ntm4.pl), it says that my server is not configured for this particular domain. What should I change? And what about the rest, AMaVIS, POP3-SSL and Spamassasin, are those important to work?

RE: DNS, AMaVis, POP3-SSL and Spamassasin down
just add "ntm4.pl" as a client domain and this should be enough.

The other services are not required, so you can safely remove them from that page if you prefer. On the other hand, if you want an antispam solution, search this forum where some ppl explained how to setup amavis Smile
