certain mail not being delivered.
Hi

I have some people sending mail to me and I am not getting them. The mail gets bounced with and the messege recieved is something about HELO and DNS MX settings being incorrect.

Even when we try to send to that mail adress it give that error. The mail is from a multirecipient Sender(could that be the problem?).

How do I check or go about fixing this...

Thanks Shy

Thanks for the reply

Everything works as it should with regards to http://www.isp-control.net/documentation...l_problems Except the host command. When I type Host and my ip adress is says Host **.**.**.**.in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

What causes this.. Sorry im a bit dumb with DNS!

Which mail logs do you need?

Ok when I send a mail this is the mail.log output

Apr 20 13:22:48 wor001 postfix/smtp[11033]: 5027CF21011: to=<jill.cox@capricorn.com.au>, relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024, delay=8.6, delays=2/0/0/6.6, dsn=2.6.0, status=sent (250 2.6.0 Ok, id=11510-03, from MTA: 250 2.0.0 Ok: queued as CEFCEF21012)

RE: certain mail not being delivered.
Recipient address rejected: Mail Appeared to be SPAM or forged. Ask your Mail/DNS-Administrator to correct HELO and DNS MX settings or to get removed from DNSBLs(multirecipient mail)

This is what gets returned when they try send to me. When I send mail out it gives no error but it doesn get delivered to the recipient. But this is only for that specific domain capricorn.co.au..

As far as I can see all other mail is working fine!!

Looks like policy-weight here. Can you please search in the mail.log about THIS Error and post it full here ? I´m sure they use not a FQDN.

RE: certain mail not being delivered.
yes this is policyd-weight.

Identify the sending server, ask the postmaster to fix his settings and add the server to a temporary whitelist.

If you have a lot of false positives configure policyd-weight to do only dnsbl_checks... This should decrease false positive, but offcourse increases your spam acceptance rate...
